Travel Cake


 

Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge filled with raspberry jam and covered in fondant. The top features a map showing the plane journey from the UK to Australia. Around the sides are surfboards, boomerangs, cork hats, an Australian flag, a kangaroo sign and a suitcase with tags saying “OZ” and “Holly” on it.


Theatre Cake


 
 

Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge filled with nutella and decorated with fondant. On top are the classic comedy and tragedy masks and around the side are logos representing different musicals: Rocky Horror Show, Shock Treatment, Avenue Q, Shrek, Hairspray, Jesus Christ Superstar, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.



Halloween Cupcakes


Made in 2015. They are a vanilla cake topped with vanilla buttercream and fondant monsters. The fondant monsters are werewolves, witches, mummies, vampires, swamp monsters and Frankenstein’s monster.


Birthday Present Cake



Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge filled with raspberry jam and covered in fondant decorations. The tag was made using an edible icing pen and fixed to the cake using thinly rolled fondant to represent string. Finally the bow and ribbon were both hand moulded using bright pink fondant.



Flower Cupcakes

Flower Cupcakes. They are vanilla cupcakes topped with vanilla buttercream and a fondant flower decoration.

Maltesers Cake


Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge topped with a dark chocolate ganache and circled by chocolate fingers. Maltesers then cover the cake starting with being poured from the packet (which gives the impression of floating in mid-air), filling the top of the cake and then overflowing down the side.

Celtic F.C. Cake



Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge filled with raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream. It is topped in Celtic colours (green and white stripes) with the club logo forming the centrepiece. Additionally there are fondant footballs, a whistle and red & yellows cards on top. Circling the cake is a green and white fondant braid and the phrase “Gerry 60 today” is seen on alternating stripes of colour.



Harry Potter Cupcakes


 

Made in 2015. The are a dairy milk chocolate cake topped with vanilla buttercream and various fondant decorations.To get the oozing effect on the cauldron I filled the fondant with green glaze icing and dripped it down the sides. There is a scarf for each Hogwarts house, a quill and ink well, Bertie Botts beans, a broomstick, a golden snitch with bludger and bat, ministry of magic letter with wands, a cauldron, the sorting hat and Tom Riddle’s diary with Basilisk tooth.


Music Cupcakes


Made in 2015. They are a vanilla cupcake topped with vanilla buttercream and a fondant decoration. The decorations are a microphone, keyboard, cassette tape, guitar pic on strings, a guitar chord and 2 different musical notes. 


Operation Game Cake



Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge filled with mixed fruit jam and vanilla buttercream. It is then covered in hand sculpted fondant decorations, including game pieces, card and tweezers.


Flower Garden Cake



Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge filled with vanilla buttercream and mixed fruit jam. It is decorated with fondant flowers, crumbled chocolate cookies to represent the soil and piped buttercream to look like grass. The rose bush is a cupcake with each leaf individually placed in position and then topped with pink roses. The pebbles around the outside of the flower bed were made by using a marble effect on the fondant, to give a more realistic look. Finally the daises in the grass depict the number 90.



Builder's Cake



Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge, filled with dark chocolate ganache and topped with fondant decorations. The decorations are all hand sculpted tools: a hammer, wrench, screwdriver, tape measure, nail, screw and a pencil. Around the base of the cake is a builder’s belt complete with 2 equipment loops at the back to hang tools.



Shoe Cupcakes


Made in 2015. The are a vanilla cake topped with vanilla buttercream and decorated with a fondant disc featuring a high heeled shoe silhouette and flower. 



Dress Cupcakes


Made in 2015. The are a vanilla cake topped with vanilla buttercream. The dresses are made from white and pink fondant, with the skirt frilled and the bodice shaped and finished with a small flower. Red sugar sprinkles were used as beading to separate the skirt and bodice sections.

Easter Cake



Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge filled with a mixed fruit jam and covered in fondant icing. To make the soil for the carrot patch I crumbled chocolate cookies to a fine crumb. The carrots and rabbits are all hand moulded from fondant icing and the picket fence was created freehand with lines added to create a wood grain effect. Finally around the base of the cake green buttercream was piped to have the effect of grass and daises were added to the main cake to add more colour.



Baby Shower Cupcakes



Made in 2015. The cake is dark chocolate flavour and is topped with a vanilla buttercream. The baby faces are made from fondant and feature 3 main expressions: smiling, screaming and sleeping/awake sucking a dummy.


Papworth Hospital Cake




Made in 2015. The cake is a vanilla sponge filled with vanilla buttercream and covered in fondant decoration. The red heart and lungs logo is the symbol for Papworth hospital and a stethoscope is looped round the cake. Finally plasters were added and just like real plasters on their underside is the fabric pad (white fondant) to give them a realistic appearance.


Playboy Cupcakes

Playboy cupcakes. They are a vanilla cake topped with Nutella buttercream and a black fondant disc featuring the playboy logo.

Made in 2015. They are a vanilla cake topped with Nutella buttercream and a black fondant disc featuring the playboy logo.


Disney Princess Cupcakes


Made in 2015. They are dark chocolate cakes topped with vanilla buttercream and fondant decorations. Each cupcake represents a different female Disney character, using something iconic about them to symbolise this; whether it be part of their costume, their hair or a prop they are often shown with. Featured are: Sleeping Beauty (Aurora), Belle, Mulan, Jasmine, Tiana, Cinderella, Ariel, Pocahontas, Snow White, Merida, Elsa and Rapunzel.




Ladybird Cupcakes


Made in 2015. The cake is red velvet and is topped with a vanilla buttercream and a fondant ladybird. The spots on the lady bird are heart shaped as I wanted to make a Valentines themed cupcake, but do something a little different to the usual heart theme. Ladybirds were chosen as I could incorporate this and still use the colour red that Valentines is associated with.
